Our Winter Container Gardens – 4 Months Later

Even though we are hearing compliments when neighbors spot our winter container gardens, Rita and I have decided that the pansies were much more aggressive growers than the ivy and juniper.   The splash of color on our porch is great and helps keep our anticipation high for spring.   Not sure if we will change the plant combination for next winter or if we will cut the pansies back more.  Click here to read my Oct 8 blog posting describing how we planted these containers.

Rita and I potted up two containers around the first of October with a small evergreen, surrounded by winter pansies and trailing ivy.

Four months after planting the pansies grew much faster than the ivy and junipers.
