I am looking for a recipe for a solution to controlling weeds in our Bermuda grass. We have tried all of the BRAND solutions and yes, they kill the weeds, but then others grow in their place. We were told of a mixture containing vinegar, dish detergent and salt and I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this working???
Hi Fran
Can’t help you with this particular home remedy. Sounds like you need to get your grass stronger by feeding it 3 or 4 times a year. The first feeding would be around the time that you see about 60% of your bermuda beginning to turn green. Then feed again at 6 week intervals. Turf Builder South is a good choice. The extra feedings will help thicken your grass up so it fills in the thin areas where you have killed the weeds. Ortho Weed B Gon MAX will do a good job on most weeds. If you have some shade, your bermuda will be thinner than it would be in full sun.
