Update: Our Front Porch Containers are Looking Marvelous!

July 10, 2013

My May 22 blog posting gave details of some of our front porch containers from previous years along with our growing tips (click here to read and see photos).

This year we planted a single Red Aglaonema (Chinese Evergreen) in the center. We then surrounded it with 2 ‘Goldi’ Lysimachia (Creeping Jenny), 2 ‘Bonfire’ Begonia and 2 ‘Black Dragon’ Coleus.  Turns out the Chinese Evergreen in the center did not like the amount of sun we were getting, so we replaced it a month ago with a Croton Zanzibar.  As you can see from this photo all is well now.  We are getting lots of compliments from our neighbors.  Click on the link above to see our three secrets to great containers.
