Neighborhood Lawn Contest

May 2, 2012

What do you get when a neighborhood sets up a friendly lawn contest?
• Some old fashioned competition
• Some good natured kidding among neighbors
• Maybe a little improvement in the looks of the neighborhood
• And most important… an excuse to have a neighborhood party when it comes time to declare the winner.
Click here to find out the details of one such neighborhood contest in the Twin Cities that caught my attention several years ago when they named their trophy after me. (At first I thought it was probably an old bowling trophy. John Bolduan, the local contest organizer, assured me this was a serious contest, with a lot of not so serious fun attached.) Here is a picture of last year’s winner Mike Haut, taken during the neighborhood end of summer party.

Mike Haut is trying to keep a straight face while accepting his award and listening to all the neigbor kidding!
