Our Grafted Tomato Wins the Ripe Race

June 9, 2012

None of the seven tomato varieties in our garden are the “early” types so I am sure others in Georgia can brag about already picking their first ripe tomato.  However, this did not make it any less exciting to Rita and I when we picked our first tomato of the season yesterday.  The first ripe tomato in our garden came from one of the new “grafted tomato” varieties sold under the MIGHTY ‘MATO brand (click here to read more about this breakthrough technology).  Our Big Beef MIGHTY ‘MATO is loaded, as are all the other tomato plants in our garden, so there will be plenty of giveaways this summer, but not this first one.

Sometimes it is the little things in life that bring the most pleasure!
